Did anyone else yell at their tv or just me? Who am I kidding, I know you all too well to know that this scene brought forth some pretty *strong* feelings.
I thought all the same things (almost exactly to a T, LOL). Especially where the heck did Lucas appear from. How did he get into town without anyone knowing...and so quickly. I wasn't as triggered as some in our group. First I was shocked and then laughed about it. I knew he would come back to town eventually. But I agree, why during Nathan's Birthday Party? Guess we shall wait and see together. Overall I loved this past episode minus the Lucas surprise.
As always, I love everything you write, and am totally on the same page. The Birds Eye view reminder is on point. As the audience, we can so easily forget this. I was just thinking this morning that another good reminder for Nathan fans who are feeling “triggered” by the Ep2 ending is that JT isn’t running the writer’s room anymore. Lindsay is steering this ship. And I 💯 trust her. And her process. She is excited about S11. She is VERY excited about the story arc for N, A, E, and LJ. Lindsay is all about family and relationships. I truly trust her with this story.
And you know I always love your well balanced (yet filled with a touch of snark) enneagram 9 way of viewing things.♥️🙌🏻
Absolutely! And don't get me wrong, for a moment I felt triggered for sure! I had to watch it twice to figure out where my feelings were. And after studying and rewatching this scene multiple times since Sunday night, I feel so much better about it.
Great take once again! Yes the bird’s eye view is relevant. We see what they don’t. The Lucas arrival was poor writing! Do the writers care about Nathan’s character and what he’s already been through? I question it for sure! But having said that, this will eventually strengthen their relationship, after the episode of Nathan having questions! Too many Hearties had a hard time and flashbacks with Lucas’s arrival. If I could talk to Lindsey, I would say it directly!
